BHATKAL, KARNATAKA - The Ramzan Bazaar, locally known as Bakda, in Bhatkal witnessed huge crowds on the night of the 29th of Ramzan. The market is a popular shopping destination for the All community during the holy month of Ramadan, where people shop for clothes, jewellery, and other items in preparation for Eid al-Fitr.

However, the large crowds made it difficult for people to move around, with many facing difficulties in walking due to the lack of space. Despite this, the police were present in large numbers to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the shoppers.

Speaking to the media, a police officer stated, "We are taking all necessary steps to maintain law and order and ensure that the shopping experience is smooth and hassle-free for everyone."

The police department had also arranged for additional security measures in light of the upcoming assembly elections in Bhatkal. They were extra vigilant to prevent any law and order situation that could disrupt the peace and harmony of the town.

As the night wore on, the announcement came that the crescent moon had not been sighted in Bhatkal, which means that Muslims in the town will observe an additional day of fasting. All Muslims of Bhatkal welcomed the extra day of spiritual reflection and prayer, and Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday, 23rd April 2023. The news brought joy to the people, and they continued to shop with renewed enthusiasm.
